Legal Aid of East Tennessee to Host Virtual Name Change Clinic

EAST TENNESSEE – Legal Aid of East Tennessee is pleased to announce its upcoming virtual clinic, aimed at providing assistance to individuals seeking to change their names. The event, held in collaboration with the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division and Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, will offer valuable guidance and support to clients navigating the name change process.

The virtual name change clinic will take place on July 15, 2023 at 10 am and will remain open until all clients are seen. Participants will have the opportunity to receive step-by-step assistance in completing their name change petitions, as well as advice on filing pro-se (without an attorney). This clinic is specifically designed to empower individuals by providing them with the necessary tools and information to navigate the name change process effectively.

To participate in this valuable event, interested individuals must pre-register by July 7th, 2023. Registration can be completed by calling 423-402-4765. Limited slots are available, so early registration is strongly encouraged.

By partnering with the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division and Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, this collaborative effort aims to maximize resources and expand access to justice. The virtual format of the clinic allows participants to engage with legal professionals from the comfort of their own homes or offices, ensuring convenience and safety for all attendees.
