FULL-TIME ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE

CLEVELAND

Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) seeks a full-time accounting assistant to work from the Cleveland office. The Accounting Assistant is responsible for completing various tasks relating to the organization’s accounting and finance functions and systems, under direct supervision of the Director of Finance. Some specific responsibilities include processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and other related tasks assigned by the Director of Finance.

A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in accounting and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.

At a minimum, candidates must have an associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. The ideal candidate will have experience with Abila MIP or other similar accounting software, experience with financial accounting audits, superior analytical skills, strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, and excellent written and verbal communication.

 Human Resources Specialist Position Available

Legal Aid of East Tennessee seeks a full-time Human Resources Specialist. The HR Specialist is responsible for all traditional HR functions and systems, under direct supervision of the Deputy Director. Some specific responsibilities include serving as a primary point of contact for management and staff with HR-related questions, maintaining personnel files, onboarding new employees, serving as custodian for Federal I-9 filings, managing benefits, coordinating open enrollment, tracking leave, and other related tasks assigned by the Deputy Director.

A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in accounting and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, and outstanding written and verbal communication.
