 Human Resources Specialist Position Available

Legal Aid of East Tennessee seeks a full-time Human Resources Specialist. The HR Specialist is responsible for all traditional HR functions and systems, under direct supervision of the Deputy Director. Some specific responsibilities include serving as a primary point of contact for management and staff with HR-related questions, maintaining personnel files, onboarding new employees, serving as custodian for Federal I-9 filings, managing benefits, coordinating open enrollment, tracking leave, and other related tasks assigned by the Deputy Director.

A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in accounting and a desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, and outstanding written and verbal communication.

A passion for the mission of Legal Aid is also desired. Salary dependent upon experience. Excellent benefits.

LEGAL AID OF EAST TENNESSEE

Paralegal Position Available

Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) seeks a full time Paralegal to support our pro bono project and to coordinate our Hispanic Hotline. This position will include assisting with volunteer attorney recruitment, case placement and monitoring, coordinating legal clinics, and other responsibilities. The Paralegal will also perform intake for Spanish speaking persons who contact LAET for assistance.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or certification from an accredited Paralegal program.  Candidates must be bi-lingual (Spanish and English). A passion for the mission of Legal Aid is also desired. Continuation of this position is contingent on continued grant funding. Salary dependent upon experience. Excellent benefits.
