PRO BONO PROJECT STAFF ATTORNEY POSITION AVAILABLE | KNOXVILLE OFFICE

Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) seeks a full-time attorney to serve as the Pro Bono Project Staff Attorney for LAET’s Knoxville area offices and to provide high-quality, comprehensive legal services to families and individuals served by LAET. The Pro Bono Project Staff Attorney is responsible for, among other things, volunteer attorney recruitment and recognition, case placement and monitoring, organization of legal clinics, organization of volunteer attorney training, event planning and coordination, and creation of content for the firm’s annual Pro Bono Plan. A demonstrated commitment to exceptional legal work and equal access to justice is required.

Candidates must be admitted to the Tennessee Bar and have more than three years of relevant experience. General litigation experience is preferred. Salary is dependent upon experience. LAET offers a generous benefits package. Continuation of this position is contingent on continued grant funding. Position is anticipated to begin immediately. LEGAL AID OF EAST TENNESSEE | STAFF ATTORNEY POSITION AVAILABLE

Legal Aid of East Tennessee seeks a full-time staff attorney available to work out of the Knoxville, Chattanooga, Johnson City, or Morristown office to assist seniors in general civil legal matters, preferably with ten years of legal experience. This position will be part of a state-wide Elder Trust Consortium, a first-of-its-kind partnership between legal aid programs in Tennessee to bring high-quality legal services to our seniors. A demonstrated commitment to high-quality legal work and equal access to justice is required. Candidates must be admitted to the Tennessee Bar. Salary dependent upon experience. Excellent benefits. This position is funded through October 2021. Continuation of this position is contingent on continued grant funding.

Candidates must be admitted to the Tennessee Bar or admitted to the bar of another state with the ability to waive into Tennessee and have three to five years of relevant experience. General litigation experience with practice experience in the areas of Family Law and Debtor/Creditor Law is preferred. Salary is dependent upon experience. LAET offers a generous benefits package. FULL-TIME PARALEGAL POSITION AVAILABLE | JOHNSON CITY OFFICE

Legal Aid of East Tennessee (LAET) seeks a full-time paralegal for LAET’s office in Johnson City, TN to handle general intake. A commitment to high-quality legal work and equal access to justice is required.  Candidates must have an Associate’s Degree or paralegal certification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated organization skills are required. Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish are preferred but not required. Candidate must have at least one year of experience as a paralegal. Salary dependent upon experience. LAET offers a generous benefits package.
