The "6.1" in the Pro Bono Project's logo underscores the legal profession's commitment to upholding the ideals expressed in Rule of Professional Conduct 6.1

The Pro Bono Project : Information for Non-Lawyers & Students

Law Students

Students enrolled and in good standing at the University of Tennessee College of Law may participate in the Pro Bono Project through UT Pro Bono or by contacting Terry Woods at LAET directly.

Law students enrolled and in good standing at other institutions should contact the Pro Bono Project Director in your  their area.

Court Reporters

Court reporters may elect to offer pro bono to all parties in litigation or only to parties who are “low-income persons” as determined by the Pro Bono Project. In order to avoid misunderstandings about the scope of service, we encourage court reporters to use this Court Reporter Agreement or a similar contract outlining the terms of service.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Pro Bono Project, contact the Pro Bono Project Director in your area.

Paralegals

Contact the Pro Bono Project Director in your area.

Paralegal Students

Volunteer opportunities for paralegal students may be arranged through your academic advisor or the pro bono coordinator at your school.
